Now

Read" Acts 24:10 - 16
One of the most important words in God’s vocabulary is the word NOW. “Come NOW
let us reason together saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they
shall be white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
(Isaiah 1:18) Behold NOW is the day of salvation. (ll Corinthians 6:2b)
You’ve heard the saying, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today”.
That’s good advice when the issue is salvation. God has provided for our
deliverance from the guilt and condemnation of sin, through Jesus’ death and
resurrection. God’s desire is that we receive His gift of salvation NOW!
Tomorrow may be too late and yesterday is past. The trouble with tomorrow is
that it never comes. Things we put off until then seem to be put off again and
again.
When Felix heard about God’s plan of salvation from the Apostle Paul, we find
that he put off the decision to receive Christ as Savior. “Go thy way for this
time; when 1 have a convenient season, I will call for thee.” (Acts 24:25) Never
will there be a better or a more convenient time than NOW to receive Jesus
Christ as your personal Savior. He died to provide forgiveness for your sins and
reconciliation with God. “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be
saved.” (Acts 16:3 1) We express belief when we confess to God that we are
sinners and ask Jesus to be our Savior. Why not pray the same prayer that the
publican prayed and was declared to be right with God? “God be merciful to me a
sinner.” (Luke 18:31) The time to receive God’s gift of salvation is NOW.
